Atlanta native, artist, and musician Mike "Swami" Schulman was a radio personality in the early 90's. He called himself "Swami Gone Bananas", and the name was born. Being a fine artist of the 60's style, he was noticed and began working for the Grateful Dead in 1992. Swami always said that the Grateful Dead were the best cover band ever, so when Jerry Garcia died in 1995, Swami put "Swami Gone Bananas" together to 'cover' them. The band has gone full circle since then, writing their own songs, becoming one of the South's fine nightclub acts, and playing festivals all over the Southeast. Swami's line-up now might be the best ever.....Atlanta legend, Tommy Dean on bass/lead vocals, Mike Eubank is one of the South's finest Keyboardist, and drumming sensation J.R. Hawkins round out a stellar group.
